Area: Medinaceli
View on map ↗

Medinaceli sits on top of a hill beside the A-2 motorway and keeps a well-looked-after medieval and Renaissance old town.

What to see

  • The Roman arch, with three openings, a very unusual monument in Spain.
  • The Plaza Mayor, with the old grain exchange and noble houses.
  • The cobbled streets, the walls and the views from the upper part.

It can be visited comfortably in a couple of hours and works as a stop between Madrid and Soria or Zaragoza. To stay longer, there are lodgings and restaurants in the town.
