The Río Lobos Canyon Natural Park is a limestone gorge carved by the river between Soria and Burgos. Its sheer walls shelter griffon vultures and other raptors, and its juniper and pine forests keep it cool even in summer.

Highlights

  • The hermitage of San Bartolomé, of Templar origin, in an especially photogenic setting.
  • The trail up the canyon, suitable for almost everyone.
  • The Cueva Grande cave and the viewpoints.
  • The village of Ucero, with its castle, at the park entrance.

Bring comfortable shoes, water and binoculars if you like birds.
