What to eat in Soria

Torreznos, mushrooms, truffle, butter and a Michelin star: the province eats very well.

Area: Toda la provincia

Soria is one of Spain’s strongest provinces for mountain produce and traditional cooking.

  • Torrezno de Soria, with its own guarantee mark since 2013. Made from pork belly, it is the star snack. There is even a Torrezno Route.
  • Mushrooms: boletus, senderillas, saffron milk caps and other seasonal species, the stars of every autumn.
  • Black truffle, with Abejar’s as the local reference.
  • Soria butter, with protected designation of origin.
  • Lamb chops and pork snout, classic dishes of Soria’s tapas.
  • Wines: part of the Ribera del Duero area falls within the province.

Fine dining has a place too: Baluarte, in the capital, holds a Michelin star. In November the Mushroom Tapas Week takes place. See Where to eat.
